Just finished sorting 2 deliveries and the website has been updated. DB010, DB200, DB201, and DB202 are back in stock, along with many others. It’s going to be a busy few days weighing everything now, but it will keep us out of mischief!

There are also quite a lot of new colours too, and I hope to get these on the website over the weekend, so I’ll keep you posted.

Advent Calendars now back in stock for immediate delivery

Well, that’s been a busy few days, making up more of our very own Advent Calendars. These special Advent Calendars are now available on the website for immediate delivery, priced at £49.95 with free postage.

There are 24 gifts inside, so you get a surprise each day, and new or experienced beaders can make 5 festive projects in the run-up to Christmas Day.

It takes me and Gordon several days to make them up in small batches as we do everything ourselves here in The Beading Room. From weighing and measuring all the contents, cutting and scoring the card, wrapping up your delicous gifts and packing them in a project box that you can use for many years of happy beading.

Here are a few pictures of the process.

It’s the start of October. We’re ready for Halloween, are you?

Liz, Bev and I had a busy time in the workshops at Haydock Park Bead Fair yesterday.

Kathy, Bev and Liz ready for everyone to ‘Ave A Go!

This time we ran 3 x 1-hour workshops during the day. The workshops are free with the materials being donated by ourselves at Halfpenney’s and Nigel & Mimi at Mr Bead, the organisers of the show.

It was lovely to see so many of you eager to learn something new. For some it was a new stitch, and for others it was the start of a journey into the wonderful world of beading. There were lots of finished bracelets being modelled after the workshop which was fantastic.

Liz’s bracelet design is worked with 2-needle Right Angle Weave (RAW) and features either a skull or rose as the focal bead. The pattern is now available to download free of charge. There is a small charge if you want me to print it out for you.

The bracelet has now become a permanent fixture in our Drop In To Bead range, and is suitable for new and experienced beaders.

Pattern to download – free of charge
Printed copy of pattern £1.50
Kit £7.50

Just search for skull to get more information about the option you want. Different colours are available.

My new design to celebrate love is now available

This tea light cover is a great choice for that special romantic event, whether it be a wedding, engagement, anniversary, Valentine’s dinner or just a nice evening in. A colour chart and a word chart are provided so that you can use which you prefer.

The tubular peyote cover is made using 2 colours of Delica beads and the hearts are then made using mainly size 11 seed beads in the same colours. A size 8 seed bead is used at the point of each heart, but a size 11 bead could be used instead.

I joined the hearts using jewellery elastic for a snug fit, but you could sew them together if you wanted to.

The kit is now available for £21.50 and includes all the beads, needles, thread and elastic needed. You will need to provide your own LED tea light and add a dab of your own jewellery glue (or clear nail varnish) to secure the knot in the elastic.

Alternatively, you can use your own materials and the pattern is available as a download or printed copy for £9.95.

Festive Tea Light Update

Hot on the heels of the new colour, Champagne, I have now also added Lilac to the range. This was originally requested as a custom kit by Elaine so between us we worked out the best bead combination. When I saw her finished tea light – only a few days later(!) – I decided I just had to include it as a kit. I hope you agree that it well worth it.

Festive Tea Light 1 – Lilac

To make room for the 2 new colours, I have decided to take out the Ice Blue and Red & White kits. So, while current stocks last, you can get them for £12.50 each. The beads used in these kits will still be included in the pattern and bead packs (or kits) can be made up on request.
