This pattern introduces African Helix stitch. This is a flexible, tubular stitch created by looping over thread, rather than passing through beads as you would in other netted tubes. Full instructions with diagrams and photographs are provided over 8 pages. Instructions are also provided for adding a magnetic clasp and safety chain.

The finished rope has a diameter of about 8mm when size 11 seed beads are used.

Miyuki size 11 seed beads in 2 colours. The colours I used are shown in the pattern. I used a magnetic clasp for the bracelet, but you can use any that you have. The stitch is best worked round something to help with tension, such as a bamboo stick, dowel, or rubber tubing.
You will need your usual beading equipment, including needle, thread, beading mat, and scissors.
